Digital `inclusion is a key factor of economic and social progress and is high on the inclusive growth agenda of many African States. It has a proven impact on productivity and growth of many small-farms, helps create decent jobs, and reduction of financial vulnerability of farmers, especially in rural communities and far off remote locations. It also has an impact on rural women and the empowerment of young people, provides access to education and enhances local authority services to support the social inclusion of marginalised and vulnerable people. It also has the advantage of broadening access to capital through more adequate financial services for rural communities to boost savings, expand entrepreneurship, and enable more farmers to invest in themselves, education and health of their families.
Direct beneficiaries include: Rural farmers (with a focus on women and youth farmers), local authorities, telecoms and officials in Local Authorities across Nigeria who will benefit from training on Digital solutions to promote sustainable agriculture practices and alternative livelihoods for rural farmers to adapt to Climate Change. The ultimate beneficiaries include over 3,000,000 people in rural communities with digital solutions to reduce poverty amongst women, and young farmers, to promote sustainable development in remote communities in Ifo, Ipokia, Odeda (Ogun State), Edu, Moro, Esin (Kwara State) and Ngor-Okpala, Nwangele, Obowo (Imo State) Local Authorities.
